About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in Mitchell, South Dakota, during the winter and summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support agriculture operations and gain practical skills in agronomy sales. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Agronomy Sales Representative with crop scouting, soil sampling, and solving field agronomic problems.
- Design, monitor, and summarize farm trials, then present your findings to customers and supervisors.
- Apply integrated pest management techniques to determine treatment thresholds.
- Learn the features and benefits of agronomy products and services while assisting with sales and product delivery.
- Perform warehouse and agronomy plant operations.
- Use the Agris software for invoicing and inventory management.
- Maintain equipment and facilities while ensuring the work environment meets state, local, and company safety policies.
- Perform custom application if qualified and assist other departments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Ag Business, Crop Science, or related degree program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Background knowledge or experience in agriculture is helpful.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
