About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in the insurance industry by working on pricing and research projects. You will support the maintenance of the Ontario Auto Private Passenger portfolio and contribute to ad-hoc statistical analysis. This is a 16-week, paid, full-time position that requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to pricing or research projects across various business lines.
- Help maintain the rate adequacy for the Ontario Auto Private Passenger portfolio.
- Use modeling software and programming languages such as SAS, SQL, R, and Earnix.
- Learn government regulations and best practices related to data manipulation.
- Generate statistics and analysis as needed.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least one year of study toward a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build trusting professional relationships.
- Experience with SAS, SQL, Python, or R is an asset.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Successful completion of a background check is required for this role.
