About the role#
Copart is hiring a Database Engineering Intern to join our Database Development team. This role offers hands-on experience in database modeling, development, and maintenance. You will work with application teams to optimize the database tier and support the full lifecycle of software products.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data requirements for business applications and build conceptual models.
- Develop physical data models and strategies for data migration and conversion.
- Write SQL code to create tables, views, stored procedures, functions, reports, and triggers.
- Maintain complex stored procedures, views, and functions across MariaDB, MySQL, DB2 AS400, and DB2 LUW databases.
- Troubleshoot production data issues and clean up junk data.
- Work with business analysts to maintain reference data according to industry standards.
What you'll need#
- A BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS, or a relevant technology field.
- Solid understanding of SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Python Object Oriented Programming, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
- Fluency in Linux/UNIX shell and common commands.
- Experience with Git for source code control and continuous integration.
- Ability to work well with changing priorities and manage time across multiple projects.
