About the role#
We are looking for a Controls Engineer Intern to join our engineering team in Canton, New York. This role offers hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of automated control systems for industrial applications. You will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects to develop your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of control systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
- Support the troubleshooting and debugging of control system hardware and software.
- Draft and review technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
- Help with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems on-site.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to complete projects.
- Research new technologies and industry best practices.
- Maintain project records and assist in preparing reports and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with CAD software is beneficial.
