About the role#
This position is for a Student Teaching Assistant for the 3D Junior Game Project (PRJ-3000-3050). You will support student game teams throughout their development process, from early prototyping in the Fall to final milestones in the Spring. This is a paid, part-time role for current DigiPen students.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with their game art creation pipeline, including testing with proxies and establishing best practices.
- Identify and resolve technical issues regarding 3D assets, game cameras, lighting, and material shaders.
- Support teams in producing art assets to meet project milestones.
- Provide verbal and written feedback to game teams, including submission videos.
- Maintain communication with instructors, other TAs, and student teams to report progress and address challenges.
- Schedule flexible work hours directly with instructors to support teams outside of their primary lab sessions.
What you'll need#
- A solid foundation as a generalist in 3D art production.
- Experience creating a 3D game in Unity or Unreal with a significant art contribution.
- Applied knowledge of painting software and 3D art fundamentals.
- High level of self-organization and motivation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with art students and provide clear, actionable feedback.
- A positive attitude toward learning and helping others succeed.
- Ability to work both remotely and in person.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: Fall 2026 through Winter 2027.
- Hours: Up to 8 hours per week.
- Eligibility: Must be a current matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and have passed PRJ-3050 or PRJ-352 with a B or better. You must reside within Washington state.
