About the role#
As an Interactive Plant Environment (IPE) Engineering Intern, you will work with experienced engineers to expand and enhance a learning environment that showcases Emerson technologies. You will gain exposure to real-world control system integration across flow, pressure, temperature, analytical, and flame and gas systems. This role focuses on improving the customer and training experience through technical projects in an industrial setting.
What you'll do#
- Support the integration of the Boulder and Shakopee Interactive Plant Environments using DeltaV distributed control systems.
- Configure and test remote connectivity features within the DeltaV control system to ensure reliable communication.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to the customer experience within the IPE, specifically for training courses and customer tours.
- Collaborate with the Boulder Marketing Coriolis team and various engineering stakeholders to align project deliverables with technical requirements.
- Document system configurations, connectivity architectures, and enhancement recommendations to support ongoing development and knowledge transfer.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) in-person.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Basic understanding of industrial networking, OPC connectivity, or remote access technologies.
- Coursework or project experience in process control, instrumentation, or automation systems.
