About the role#
Entegris is seeking a Quality Engineer Co-Op for our San Luis Obispo, California facility. This is a full-time, 6-month assignment starting in January 2027. You will work on-site in a manufacturing environment to support quality systems and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, nonconformance investigations, and corrective action (CAPA) processes.
- Analyze manufacturing data to spot trends and find opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
- Develop and update quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
- Create and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and management reports.
- Participate in internal audits and quality system compliance tasks.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support process validation, risk assessments, and engineering change activities.
- Present your findings and recommendations for continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in San Luis Obispo for the 6-month duration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to communicate findings effectively through written and verbal presentations.
- Familiarity with university requirements for co-op participation.
- Self-motivation and attention to detail.
- Experience with statistical analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or quality methodologies is preferred.
- Knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, ISO 9001, or semiconductor manufacturing is a plus.

- Location: San Luis Obispo, CA (On-site).
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through June).
- Employment: Full-time.
