About the role#
The Environmental Intern works with Environmental Program Managers in Malta, New York to improve site environmental performance. You will gain exposure to environmental management systems and regulatory requirements within semiconductor manufacturing. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Track and report on resource conservation projects, including greenhouse gas reductions, water conservation, chemical reduction, and landfill avoidance.
- Focus on ISO, RBA, ESG, and corporate objectives.
- Help the Regional Environmental team improve process documentation and develop metrics to show program health.
- Support general business controls for the region.
- Partner with manufacturing, facilities, logistics, and quality teams to find new opportunities that meet regional environmental goals.
- Perform duties to support EHS&S activities while ensuring all work is done in a safe and responsible manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in environmental science, chemistry, or an engineering discipline.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
- English fluency in both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Interest in AI tools, project management, and environmental management systems.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and navigate ambiguity.
