About the role#
HealthFitness offers internship opportunities for students completing their university requirement. This role provides hands-on experience in a fitness facility, allowing you to gain exposure to various health and wellness operations. You will work in a supportive environment while completing your internship credits.
What you'll do#
- Provide supervision and fitness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations for program participants and personal training clients.
- Prescribe cardiovascular and strength exercise programs for healthy individuals.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format through team teaching.
- Contribute to the marketing of fitness and wellness programs.
- Assist staff with daily office duties, data compilation, and event coordination.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior undergraduate or graduate student.
- A degree path in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Health Education, Health Promotion, or Recreation.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Strong communication skills to interact with a diverse group of people.
