About the role#
This internship provides students with hands-on experience at a corporate fitness center in Indianapolis. You will gain exposure to the daily operations of a professional wellness facility while completing your university internship requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide fitness and wellness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations and create exercise programs for clients.
- Develop and run special programs or events for the facility.
- Help market fitness services through newsletters, web updates, and on-site events.
- Assist with the coordination of health and wellness programming.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format.
- Shadow personal trainers and assist with general office duties.
What you'll need#
- You must be a Junior or Senior undergraduate or a Master's student in Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required by the start date.
- Strong communication skills to interact with a diverse range of individuals.
- A Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is preferred but not required.
