About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in a fitness facility. You will work in a corporate, community, or hospital setting to complete your university requirements. The role focuses on giving you exposure to daily operations and professional responsibilities in the wellness field.
What you'll do#
- Supervise members and provide fitness guidance.
- Perform fitness evaluations and interpret data for clients.
- Prescribe strength and cardiovascular exercise programs.
- Assist with compiling participation data and reports.
- Develop or implement a special program or event.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format.
- Help market fitness and wellness programs through newsletters and events.
- Assist staff with daily office duties and attend meetings.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in a Bachelor's or Master's program.
- Currently studying Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse groups.
- A Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is preferred but not required.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
