About the role#
HealthFitness offers internship opportunities for students completing university requirements in corporate, community, or hospital settings. This role provides hands-on experience in fitness and wellness operations. You will work directly with members and staff to gain practical skills in your chosen field.
What you'll do#
- Provide fitness and wellness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations and prescribe cardiovascular and strength exercise programs.
- Develop and implement special programs or events.
- Assist in marketing fitness and wellness services through various channels.
- Instruct group exercise classes and special fitness programs.
- Support staff with daily office duties and attend scheduled meetings.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in a Bachelor's or Master's program for Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, Real Estate, or related fields.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Ability to instruct group exercise sessions.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse individuals.
- Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is preferred.
