About the role#
HealthFitness offers internship opportunities for students completing university requirements. This role provides hands-on experience in a fitness facility setting. You will gain exposure to daily operations and health programming while working toward your degree.
What you'll do#
- Provide supervision and fitness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations for program participants and personal training clients.
- Develop and implement at least one special program or event.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format.
- Assist with the coordination of health and wellness special events.
- Help staff with daily office tasks and participate in scheduled meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior undergraduate or a Master's level student.
- Pursuing a degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Recreation, Health Education, or Health Promotion.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse group of individuals.
