    About the role#

    Join KCRA/KQCA TV in Sacramento as a Newsroom Intern. This program provides an inside look at how a television station functions and the role it plays in the community. You will shadow teams across several departments, including the assignment desk, news production, digital media, sports, and weather. This is a paid internship lasting 10 to 12 weeks.

    What you'll do#

    • Gather news and information by communicating with reporters, government agencies, and the public.
    • Write and format scripts for broadcast and digital platforms.
    • Research content for the station website, mobile app, and social media channels.
    • Monitor national sports feeds for breaking news and log recorded sports events.
    • Analyze weather charts and models to help prepare daily forecasts and graphics.
    • Assist staff with field work, logistics, and video production.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a degree program related to Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
    • Ability to gather information from various sources.
    • Strong writing skills for broadcast and digital formats.
    • Interest in data analysis and weather forecasting.
    • A desire to learn about all aspects of news production.

    • Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
