    About the role#

    As a News Intern at KOCO, you will gain hands-on experience in how a professional newsroom operates. You will work directly with reporters and producers to research and gather information for daily news stories. This is a paid, full-time position that requires you to be on-site in Oklahoma City.

    What you'll do#

    • Write stories for newscasts, including vo/spots and packages.
    • Support reporters, producers, and photographers during field shoots.
    • Log interviews for news segments.
    • Coordinate content within the newsroom.
    • Assist with daily newsroom operations and other tasks as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • A strong interest in journalism and relevant experience, such as college coursework or a previous internship.
    • Ability to react and adapt quickly to breaking news.
    • Versatility in covering a wide range of topics and subjects.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of current events.
    • Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
    • Ability to work well within a team.
