About the role#
HNTB is seeking an engineering intern to join the Electrical, Mechanical, and Fire Protection department in Bellevue, Washington, for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will support the design and development of infrastructure projects alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Assist with research, development, and design of infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documentation.
- Design and lay out HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
- Participate in the design of electrical power systems and perform load analysis.
- Support flow analysis and fire and smoke mitigation strategies for transportation and architectural environments.
- Contribute to lighting system design and apply the National Electric Code.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program, specifically in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of at least 2 years of an engineering program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
- Ability to organize information for drawings and technical documents.

- Compensation: The pay range is $25.28 to $37.92 per hour.
