About the role#
This position is for current or former HNTB interns only. You will work with our engineering teams to support infrastructure projects through basic tasks that reflect standard post-secondary engineering curricula. This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 internship. Please note that relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Organize information for use in technical documents.
- Handle other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Aerospace).
- A basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
- A willingness to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
- An understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Completion of at least two years of an engineering program is preferred.

This role is on-site and available in the following locations: Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, Plano, Round Rock, and San Antonio, Texas; Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana; Kansas City, Overland Park, and St. Louis, Missouri; Des Moines, Iowa; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
