About the role#
This internship with the Sustainable Investing team supports the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into financial analysis. You will work across asset classes within the Investment Management division to help advance the climate strategy and net zero portfolio plan of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).
What you'll do#
- Support the implementation of the climate strategy and net zero portfolio plan by working with portfolio managers and investment companies.
- Conduct research on ESG focus areas and sustainable investing practices.
- Analyze and summarize company information from ESG reports and disclosures to inform stewardship activities.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of reporting tasks.
- Support the implementation of data and analytics tools for sustainability and climate change.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university degree in Commerce, Finance, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
- For Environmental Science or Engineering majors, experience in finance or investment management is required.
- Strong research and analytical skills to review both qualitative and quantitative information.
- Ability to solve problems and work independently.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.

- Term: Winter 2027 (4 or 8 months).
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment Status: Full-time and paid position.
- Hourly Rate: $26.00 to $40.00.
