    About the role#

    The Career and Financial Coaching Intern supports the economic empowerment team in Baltimore. You will assist humanitarian immigrants, including refugees and asylees, as they work toward self-sufficiency. This role involves direct client interaction, administrative support, and research to help individuals navigate the U.S. job market.

    What you'll do#

    • Work one-on-one with clients to identify barriers to employment and develop employability plans.
    • Lead job readiness training sessions and provide virtual coaching to prepare clients for interviews.
    • Research potential employers through online tools and cold-calling.
    • Coordinate transportation for clients attending job interviews.
    • Assist with case documentation, file maintenance, and new hire paperwork.

    What you'll need#

    • Fluency in English is required.
    • Bilingual ability in a language common to the local client base is desired.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
    • Prior experience or interest in working with refugees and immigrants.
    • Prior experience or interest in workforce development or related services.
    • Students in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, or Business Administration are encouraged to apply.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Baltimore, Maryland.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026, to December 18, 2026).
    • Modality: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week required in the office.
    • Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week.
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. A per diem of $15 per day is available to offset food and travel costs. Mileage reimbursement is available for approved activities.
