About the role#
This work study position supports the Gas Utility and Gas Pipeline program at Marshalltown Community College. You will work directly with the faculty to assist with classroom activities and field projects. This is a paid, on-site role with rolling start dates.
What you'll do#
- Support the instructor with classroom and field projects.
- Help students during class sessions.
- Perform small repairs on equipment and maintain vehicles.
- Handle sandblasting and painting tasks.
- Clean and organize the shop area.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating a backhoe, minihoe, and trencher.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow instructions to complete tasks independently.
- Organizational skills to manage inventory.
