About the role#
This position offers students the opportunity to work outdoors while supporting campus operations. You will monitor parking lots, assist visitors, and help maintain orderly traffic flow. This role is paid and provides a set weekly schedule for the semester with a minimum 2-hour block per shift.
What you'll do#
- Monitor assigned parking lots to ensure vehicles have the correct permits.
- Check compliance for timed and reserved parking spaces.
- Issue citations to parking violators.
- Staff the Visitor and Parking Information Booth to welcome guests and provide directions.
- Issue parking permits to visitors.
- Communicate with Parking Services using a portable two-way radio.
- Assist with traffic control during special campus events.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Capability to walk for long periods of time in various weather conditions.
- Experience using a portable two-way radio.
- Ability to assist with traffic control.
- Majors in Business Administration, Communications, Criminal Justice, or Psychology are relevant to this role.
