About the role#
This 10-week internship places you within our frontline technology teams. You will work alongside experienced systems and network engineers to manage, monitor, and improve our real-time trading environment. This role provides broad technical and operational knowledge across our technology stack and serves as a primary pipeline for full-time opportunities at Jump.
What you'll do#
- Proactively monitor the overall health and performance of the trading platform.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex system, software, and networking infrastructure issues.
- Design and optimize network infrastructure for proprietary low latency trading applications.
- Build automation to manage and improve the production trading environment.
- Coordinate with risk management and trading teams to manage incidents.
- Manage and assess the operational risk of change control in production.
- Define and document technical processes and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience working with Linux/UNIX operating systems, including shell scripts.
- Practical working knowledge of Python.
- Understanding of networking concepts like routing, multicast, and ethernet.
- Ability to operate and communicate clearly under pressure.
- A detail-oriented approach to operations and a collaborative mindset.
