About the role#
The Investment Co-op role supports the Manulife Investment Management Venture Capital team. This team focuses on early and growth stage investments in North American B2B SaaS startups, specifically within enterprise software and fintech. You will assist in assessing new transactions, monitoring existing portfolio companies, and tracking developments across targeted industries.
What you'll do#
- Collect analyst reports and conduct research on selected companies and industry sectors.
- Prepare industry reports that identify market trends, consumer behavior, and financial performance measures.
- Meet with prospective startup companies and complete in-depth due diligence.
- Assist in valuation analyses and financial modeling to support investment assessments.
- Support the completion of quarterly and annual reviews, risk ratings, and collateral valuations for portfolio companies.
- Use your technical knowledge to assess software companies for the quality of their technology and their ability to scale.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Science.
- Prior internship experience in product roles, strategy and operations, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or consulting.
- Strong quantitative skills, including financial modeling and valuation analysis.
- Ability to synthesize and articulate thoughts about companies and markets through strong written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated project and time management skills.
