About the role#
McKenney's, Inc. offers a Co-op program for students to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will join the Energy team to work on real projects, with the potential to see a project through from initial development to customer agreement. This is a full-time, paid position based in Atlanta, Georgia.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing cost-effective and efficient HVAC retrofit projects.
- Collaborate with field technicians to coordinate building optimization and retro-commissioning projects.
- Partner with vendors and subcontractors to collect material and equipment quotes.
- Review project drawings and specifications to help develop estimates and proposals.
- Analyze building automation system data and build hourly energy models for commercial buildings.
- Participate in job walks to gather building information and assess operational performance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Commitment to complete at least two full-time, alternating Co-op rotations before graduation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and effective communication skills.

- Location: Atlanta, GA.
- Terms: Spring 2027 and Fall 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Note: Occasional site visits may require navigating active construction areas and handling objects up to 50 pounds.
