About the role#
This position supports campus operations by managing traffic and security for events. You will work across the university grounds to ensure activities run smoothly while assisting guests and staff. This role is open to students, particularly those studying Criminal Justice, and covers the 2026-2027 academic year.
What you'll do#
- Direct and control traffic flow for campus events.
- Monitor property and crowds during various activities, including soccer games and concerts.
- Provide security support at college venues, including guarding doors for equipment and personal items.
- Operate college fleet vehicles, such as vans, when required.
- Assist guests by answering questions and providing information.
- Help with administrative tasks like counting parking spaces and handing out permits.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work with people in a positive and respectful manner.
- Reliable and consistent attendance.
- Capacity to remain calm if you encounter verbal abuse from guests or students.
- Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, ice, and snow.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of all information received.
- While not required, previous experience with fire police or police department internships is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $8.00 per hour.
- Terms: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027.
- Note: You may work in extreme temperatures or crowded indoor venues. Vests and identifying shirts are provided, but you must supply your own weather-appropriate outdoor clothing.
