About the role#
Momentive is seeking an R&D Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Waterford, New York. You will work on-site for 10 to 12 weeks between May and August.
What you'll do#
You will spend your time in the lab conducting experiments and gathering data. Your daily work includes:
- Running chemical reactions, including organic synthesis, polymerization, or rubber compounding.
- Performing formulation work and various physical, mechanical, or rheological tests.
- Searching literature to understand your specific project goals.
- Analyzing experimental data to reach scientific conclusions.
- Writing a final technical report and presenting your findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Polymer Science and Engineering.
- You must remain enrolled for at least one semester after the internship ends.
- Previous hands-on lab experience in chemistry or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong literature searching skills.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the program.

- Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
