About the role#
Momentive is seeking a Summer Intern for our Process Industries team. This role focuses on a research project centered on the formulation and industrial application of high-performance antifoams. You will work on developing new formulations that incorporate sustainable ingredients while maintaining or improving current performance levels.
What you'll do#
- Conduct independent lab-based experimentation.
- Develop and test formulations using polymers, surfactants, and antifoams.
- Follow established safety procedures and lab protocols.
- Maintain the laboratory space according to good housekeeping principles.
- Document, analyze, and report your findings.
- Summarize and present your project results at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MS or PhD program in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, or surfactant chemistry.
- Availability for 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks between May and August.
- Active enrollment in an academic program during the application period and for at least one semester following the internship.
- A background in colloidal science, such as emulsions, foams, or dispersions, is preferred.
