About the role#
As an Engineer Intern for Controls, you will assist our engineering team with power and controls functions at our Roy, Utah facility. This role involves hands-on work with vehicle and equipment designs, from initial modeling to final testing on the assembly floor.
What you'll do#
- Prepare component layouts and schematics using CAD software.
- Select parts based on performance, weight, cost, and reliability.
- Provide technical assistance during prototype, pilot, and production builds on the assembly floor.
- Design, model, and test new components related to power conversion, controls, or software.
- Prototype, test, deploy, and verify code changes for our equipment.
- Update bills of materials to reflect product changes.
- Consult with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to solve technical problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic skills in electrical and software troubleshooting.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel layout models.
- Experience with conduit or wire routing in a 3D environment.
