About the role#
As a Scheduling Engineer Intern, you will work alongside our scheduling team to gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of active construction projects. You will learn how projects come together from overall milestones and strategy down to the daily field activities that drive the schedule. This role provides a ground-level view of how construction projects are planned, sequenced, and delivered while you build skills in CPM scheduling, software, and contract standards.
What you'll do#
- Work with an experienced scheduler to apply Ryan's scheduling standards, tools, and processes.
- Spend time on active jobsites to connect the schedule to the physical work being built.
- Support project teams in creating, updating, and reviewing schedules during proposal and preconstruction stages.
- Help keep project schedules accurate by assisting with regular progress updates.
- Assist in preparing monthly project schedule health reports to monitor performance.
- Participate in collaborative planning sessions with project teams, subcontractors, and owners to develop sequencing and manpower plans.
- Observe peer review sessions on complex projects to understand how schedules are stress-tested.
- Capture and organize project schedule data to support continuous-improvement efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in construction scheduling, planning, and project controls.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfort splitting time between an office setting and active construction sites.
- Initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to ask questions.
