About the role#
The Strategic Sourcing Assistant supports procurement projects, data analysis for spend categories, and contract compliance. You will work with cross-functional departments to help meet cost reduction targets and supplier performance goals. This is a paid, full-time 8-month co-op position.
What you'll do#
- Identify suppliers and build relationships for Capital Equipment and MRO.
- Analyze market conditions and share trends or forecasts with stakeholders.
- Support RFP, RFQ, RFA, and negotiation processes.
- Work with Legal and stakeholders to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
- Manage the supplier portfolio and develop category strategies.
- Monitor KPIs for key suppliers and manage their performance.
- Ensure contract commitments are met and recorded in the ERP system.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Eligible for an 8-month co-op term starting in Winter 2027.
- General understanding of sourcing, category knowledge, and supplier management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work independently.
- Previous experience in a supply chain or operations environment is preferred.
- Database skills and ERP experience are assets.
- Basic French language skills are a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in person, 2 days remote).
- Term: January 2027 to August 2027.
- Hourly pay range: $21.80 to $27.00, based on year of study and prior experience.
