About the role#
This internship position is based in our Grid business unit for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside senior engineers on transmission and distribution projects. The role involves supporting new designs, system modifications, and infrastructure upgrades. This is a full-time, paid position that requires a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering team members with project execution.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design documents.
- Track and evaluate project progress, activities, and data.
- Support power design tasks and the procurement process for major equipment and structures.
- Use modern tools, including automation and scripting, to improve workflows and solve engineering problems.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science program in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.
- A strong academic background with a minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in campus or community settings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize issues to meet deadlines.
- Proactive mindset and a self-starter approach.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in the energy or engineering sector is valued.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages like Python or MATLAB is a plus.
