About the role#
As a Transmission & Distribution Engineer Intern in our Grid business unit, you will support senior engineers on project teams. You will assist in executing project work, including the design of new, modified, or upgraded transmission and distribution systems. This role provides an opportunity to apply your engineering background to real-world power design projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and data.
- Prepare documentation for the procurement of equipment, structures, and installation services.
- Solve engineering problems using data and tools like automation or AI to improve workflows and reduce rework.
- Use programming or scripting languages like Python or MATLAB to automate calculations and reporting.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science program in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Candidates in other engineering fields may be considered if they have relevant coursework in areas like statics, geotechnical engineering, or electrical power.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and meet deadlines.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in this field is valued.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in your community or on campus.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.

- Location: Fort Worth, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Modality: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office.
