About the role#
As a Transmission & Distribution Engineer Intern in our Grid business unit, you will join a project team to support the design of new projects and upgrades. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to apply your academic background in a professional setting. This role is a full-time, paid summer 2027 internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist the engineering team with project execution, including the preparation of designs, calculations, and specifications.
- Support project reporting by tracking and evaluating project activities, progress, and data.
- Contribute to power designs and prepare documents for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and installation services.
- Solve engineering problems using data and modern tools such as automation and AI.
- Build or use automation to create calculations, draft design documentation, or summarize technical documents.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Enrollment in an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
- A strong academic background, with a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in campus or community settings.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to identify issues, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Prior related internship or co-op experience is valued.

- Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation of three days in the office per week.
