About the role#
The Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12 week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in retail store operations, sales, and management. You will gain insight into business-to-business and retail environments by working directly in a paint store. The program includes structured time with management teams, shadowing a Sales Representative, and collaborating with fellow interns on a project that addresses a real business challenge.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to customers.
- Contribute to sales goals through active support.
- Develop product knowledge to answer inquiries and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and assist with visual merchandising.
- Handle point-of-sale transactions, mix products, and perform general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and manage inventory flow.
- Participate in training sessions and follow store policies.
- Support team members with customer concerns.
- Collaborate on a team project to solve a business challenge.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 70 lbs on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Internal candidates must have a meets expectations rating on their most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
- Preferred: Rising or current Junior or Senior status.
- Preferred: Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in retail, delivery, or customer service.
- Preferred: Experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Preferred: Ability to communicate in more than one language, specifically Spanish.
