About the role#
This Co-op assignment runs full-time from mid-May 2027 through late November or early December 2027. You will join the SME team for an orientation and training period, followed by hands-on work alongside full-time staff. This role provides exposure to construction techniques and project types across geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, pavement design, and materials evaluation. You will interact directly with construction managers, contractors, and design professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Assist engineering staff with field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Learn and ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Gain exposure to consulting engineering practices.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and reporting.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50 to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work outside on uneven terrain in various weather conditions, including sitting, standing, stooping, or kneeling for long periods.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- A focus on safety and a willingness to learn.
