About the role#
This Co-op position offers hands-on experience in consulting engineering. You will work full-time from mid-May through late November or early December 2027. The role begins with a multi-week orientation and training period, followed by on-the-job training alongside full-time staff. You will interact with contractors, design professionals, and construction managers while gaining exposure to geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, and materials evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Assist engineering staff with field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Help ensure adherence to project specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Civil Engineering degree.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and report generation.
- A good driving record and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Capability to sit, stand, stoop, or kneel for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- A focus on safety and adherence to industry standards.
