About the role#
This full-time Co-op position offers hands-on experience in consulting engineering. You will start with a multi-week orientation and training period, followed by direct work alongside SME team members. The role runs from mid-May 2027 through late November or early December 2027. You will interact with contractors, construction managers, and design professionals while gaining exposure to geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, and materials evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials like soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Work with SME team members and contractors to ensure projects meet specifications.
- Assist engineering staff with field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Gain exposure to consulting engineering practices and technical specializations.
What you'll need#
- Basic computer literacy for field work and report generation.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50 to 60 pounds.
- Capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing plans and reporting data.
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, or kneel for long periods.
