About the role#
This full-time Civil Engineering Co-op position runs from mid-May 2027 through late November or early December 2027. You will join the SME team for an orientation and training period, followed by hands-on work alongside full-time staff. You will gain exposure to consulting engineering practices and interact with contractors, construction managers, and design professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support field construction quality control activities.
- Assess and evaluate project materials, including soils and concrete.
- Help ensure projects adhere to specific technical requirements.
- Perform field evaluations and quality control testing.
- Learn about various construction techniques and project types.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering program.
- Basic computer literacy for field work, communication, and reporting.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, stoop, or kneel for long periods.
- Capacity to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
