About the role#
This is a hands-on, paid internship program designed to prepare you for a career in operations leadership. You will work within a Target supply chain facility, gaining a realistic preview of the Operations Manager role. Over the course of the summer, you will work closely with mentors and facility leaders to understand how our distribution network functions while learning to lead, motivate, and influence a team.
What you'll do#
- Lead team members to meet daily business priorities and production goals.
- Maintain high standards for quality and inventory accuracy.
- Track key performance indicators to identify gaps and drive operational improvements.
- Facilitate communication between IT and operations teams to resolve system issues.
- Conduct regular safety walks to identify, report, and resolve potential hazards.
- Lead daily team meetings and planning sessions to organize shift objectives.
- Coach and provide feedback to team members to support their performance and development.
What you'll need#
- Active participation in school or extracurricular activities, including leadership roles.
- A strong interest in retail, specifically within supply chain operations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse groups.
- Strong initiative and proven problem-solving skills.
- A team-oriented mindset and an enthusiasm for continuous learning.
- Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility.

- Location: Albany, Oregon.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Majors: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
