About the role#
The Christman Building Innovation Group is hiring an Estimating Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 program. You will work with project teams on planning, estimating, and problem solving. This role involves collaboration with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to support construction delivery.
What you'll do#
- Read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
- Survey and quantify materials from drawings.
- Organize quantity takeoffs for audits and estimate interiors.
- Contact and follow up with trade contractors and suppliers for pricing.
- Learn about mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and how they interact with building architecture.
- Participate in active project site visits to see construction processes firsthand.
- Assist the project planning team in developing 4D models and Facility Asset Management Models.
- Use Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technologies for project planning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Participation or leadership roles in student organizations or extracurricular clubs.
- Authorization to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including drug and background checks.

- This is a paid, full-time internship for the Summer 2027 term.
