About the role#
This is a summer 2027 internship focused on airport construction. You will work on-site at the Des Moines International Airport to support critical infrastructure projects. This role provides direct exposure to active construction sites and mentorship from licensed engineers.
What you'll do#
- Perform construction observation for aviation projects.
- Help with construction measurements, documentation, and quantity reporting.
- Review project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors and clients.
- Escort and observe contractors within the secure airfield area.
- Complete routine civil engineering tasks under the guidance of a licensed engineer.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited school.
- Ability to pass a background check for airport security clearance.
- A valid driver license and a clean driving record.
