About the role#
The Hanover Insurance Group is hiring an intern for the Marine Underwriting team for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, 10-week program designed to provide hands-on experience in the insurance industry. You will work alongside underwriters, technicians, and associates to gain insight into the business while contributing to real projects.
What you'll do#
- Support underwriting functions by working directly with assigned team members.
- Assist with daily underwriting transactions, agency relationships, and documentation compliance.
- Gather and prepare key data while following up on outstanding issues.
- Analyze lines of business to evaluate specific accounts.
- Develop and deliver a final presentation to management and leadership at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or advanced degree program, specifically in Business Administration.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to commit to the full 10-week summer program.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and an innovative approach to problem solving.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external partners.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Locations: Worcester, MA; Houston, TX; or Charlotte, NC.
- Modality: Hybrid (working in-office two days per week).
- Status: Paid internship.
