    About the role#

    Student Managers support the programming and tutoring services offered to students at the University of New Mexico. This leadership position involves mentoring CTL student employees and providing guidance within specific academic support programs. You will work alongside full-time staff to maintain program integrity and handle day-to-day operations. We are hiring two managers for the Fall 2026 term, one for the Math team and one for the Chem-Bio team.

    What you'll do#

    • Coordinate and provide expertise for a CTL program and service.
    • Mentor student employees and model professional expectations.
    • Serve as a tutor to demonstrate best practices in peer tutoring.
    • Plan and co-facilitate weekly training sessions for student staff.
    • Represent the CTL through presentations to student groups, organizations, and classes.
    • Conduct outreach to students within the university community.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours at the University of New Mexico as a degree-seeking student.
    • At least one full semester of experience working at a STEM learning center.
    • Completion of Calculus 3 for the Math role, or Organic Chemistry II and experience with Biology for the Chem-Bio role.
    • Availability to work 15-25 hours per week.
    • Ability to attend mandatory Friday trainings from 3 pm to 5 pm.
    • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends when necessary.
