About the role#
The Public Relations Department at The University of New Mexico Gallup campus is hiring a student assistant to help with marketing and communications. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Public Relations Specialist to support student engagement efforts and daily office operations.
What you'll do#
- Design and update flyers for campus activities.
- Format digital newsletters and maintain the campus events calendar.
- Create and share social media, video, and written content.
- Take and edit photos for department use.
- Print and distribute marketing materials around campus.
- Provide customer service at the visitor center.
- Assist with general office tasks like answering phones, greeting visitors, scanning documents, and taking notes during meetings.
- Support various campus events.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a student.
- A flexible skillset to handle diverse marketing and office tasks.
- Ability to work effectively under supervision.
- Academic background in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or Media Studies is preferred.

- This position is located in Gallup, New Mexico.
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time role.
- Hiring is conducted on a rolling basis.
