    About the role#

    The University of New Mexico is hiring a student to support the AI Living Lab water-testing program. You will work directly with adult community members to test water samples and explain the results. This position involves both laboratory work and community outreach, requiring you to travel to senior and community centers to run mobile testing presentations.

    What you'll do#

    • Schedule and coordinate mobile water-testing appointments at adult community centers.
    • Set up and break down testing equipment at various locations.
    • Perform water-quality tests for pH, TDS, and EC parameters while explaining the process to participants.
    • Operate, calibrate, and maintain testing meters and related lab equipment.
    • Document laboratory activities by filming, editing, and publishing video and social media content.
    • Record test results accurately and maintain detailed field and laboratory logs.
    • Report any results outside of established ranges to the Lab Director.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
    • A valid Work-Study Award.
    • A background in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Public Health, or a related STEM discipline.

    • This role is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
    • This is an on-site, paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
