About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program based in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. The role is full-time and requires on-site work. You will support the Process Safety team by working on improvement projects, assisting with safety studies, and collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and EHS departments. This position is designed as a pipeline for future leadership roles within the company.
What you'll do#
- Support process safety improvement projects and track action closures.
- Assist with preparations for PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA studies.
- Participate in PHA and HAZOP sessions and document recommendations.
- Update SOPs and work instructions based on process documentation.
- Improve Process Safety Information by reconciling P&IDs, PFDs, and technical documents.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) projects and audit corrective-action tasks.
- Develop tools, templates, and dashboards for process safety tracking.
- Conduct field walkdowns to verify documentation and learn chemical processes.
- Present project results and recommendations to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Safety Engineering.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- At least one year of previous internship or work experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and data management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability or willingness to learn how to read P&IDs and PFDs.
- Proven leadership experience through campus, community, or professional organizations.
- Geographic mobility and flexibility for current and future career opportunities.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Location: Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 weeks).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21.50 - $28.75 per hour.
- Relocation: $5,000 stipend available for students located 50+ miles from the site.
