About the role#
The Actuary Intern will work with our actuarial team to provide support for underwriting units, including reinsurance, pricing, and budget support. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in our Houston office. We prefer candidates who can also work part-time during the following Fall and Spring semesters.
What you'll do#
- Analyze claims and premium information to support quarterly reserving, commutations, and pool arrangements.
- Investigate and evaluate different lines of business to project loss ratios and produce reports for management and underwriters.
- Assist with actuarial reserving tasks.
- Examine and input payment patterns for budget purposes.
- Support reserving tasks such as rating agency presentations, annual statement schedules, and SEC documentation.
- Aid in merger and acquisition efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and SharePoint.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Clear communication skills.

- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with 4 days per week in the office.
- Term: Summer 2027, starting mid to late May and ending in early August.
