About the role#
This position is a two-year training program designed to prepare you for a career as a service mechanic at a John Deere dealership. You will balance instructor-led classroom and lab training at a certified John Deere Tech school with on-site work at our dealership. This is a full-time, paid internship that requires enrollment in a John Deere Ag Tech associate degree program.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech school.
- Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks and learn key mechanical skills.
- Develop technical proficiency in the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of equipment components.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR systems.
- Document all diagnostics, repairs, and billable time for assigned work orders.
- Learn how to manage labor efficiencies and understand service department operations.
- Maintain a clean, orderly workspace and follow all safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or firm plans to enroll in a certified John Deere Ag Tech program at a participating college.
- A willingness to learn and perform tasks under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Knowledge of or interest in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR systems.
- An understanding of service department operations and labor efficiency goals.
- Ability to assist with basic service tasks and equipment maintenance.
