About the role#
The Wyoming Technology Transfer Center (T2 Center) is looking for a Community Outreach Intern to support training programs, workshops, and conferences for transportation professionals across Wyoming. This role offers hands-on experience in event coordination, customer service, communications, financial tracking, and website management. We seek a dependable person interested in a long-term position that provides opportunities for professional growth and increasing responsibility.
What you'll do#
- Provide professional customer service by answering phone calls and responding to emails regarding programs.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating statewide workshops, conferences, and training events.
- Track registrations, attendance, payments, and other program data using Microsoft Excel and databases.
- Prepare invoices and assist with financial recordkeeping.
- Update the Center's website with workshop information, certification lists, and announcements.
- Prepare workshop materials such as sign-in sheets, name tags, and participant packets.
- Support day-to-day office operations, including travel paperwork and proofreading communications.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently after training and contribute to a team.
- Ability to learn new software and office procedures.
- Professional, courteous, and customer-focused interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Laramie, Wyoming.
- This is a paid, part-time role requiring approximately 19.5 hours per week.
- The work schedule is flexible between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- This role is open to students in majors such as Communications, Business Administration, Public Health, and Psychology.
