About the role#
The Risk Management and Insurance Office at the University of Wyoming is seeking a student intern to support daily operations. This position works directly with the Chief Risk Officer to assist with a comprehensive enterprise risk management program. You will gain hands-on experience in project coordination, compliance, financial reconciliation, and data analysis. This role is ideal for students interested in building professional experience while completing their degree.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support for daily office operations.
- Create, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets, databases, and electronic records.
- Compile, organize, validate, and summarize data from multiple University systems.
- Develop recurring and ad hoc reports using University information systems and software applications.
- Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, students, vendors, insurance carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with insurance program administration, financial reconciliations, and departmental research.
- Draft, edit, and format policies, procedures, and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Wyoming.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Health, Data Science, Statistics, or Health Administration.

- The internship term covers Summer 2026.
